What to Expect When You Visit the ER

We know that bringing your furry family member into emergency care can be a stressful and overwhelming experience. At Pet+E.R Plus, our goal is to provide the highest standard of care while minimizing stress for both you and your companion. While emergencies are unpredictable, we focus on clear, compassionate communication to ensure you understand every step we're taking in your pet's care.

If possible, please call ahead and bring your pet's medical records with you. This helps our veterinarians gain valuable insight into your pet's medical history, allowing us to provide the best possible treatment.

Your Visit

Once your pet has been triaged, one of our experienced emergency veterinarians will examine them thoroughly. The doctor will discuss a set of initial diagnostic procedures for your approval, which may include x-rays, blood work, and more. These tests are crucial in identifying the cause of your pet’s distress or injury and play a key role in creating an effective treatment plan.

Based on the test results, the veterinarian will outline a treatment plan and provide an estimate for care. In some cases, hospitalization may be necessary. If your pet requires hospitalization, we will provide updates once or twice daily. You are also welcome to call for updates or visit your pet, provided we can accommodate visitors on the treatment floor. Please contact us in advance to arrange a visit.
